Helsinki is full of events this summer: festivals, gigs, concerts, exhibitions, sports and many other kinds of events for people of all ages and tastes.

Enjoy Midsummer by the sea
In Helsinki, you can enjoy Midsummer by the sea in many ways. The Stadin juhannus event on Lonna Island and the Seurasaari Midsummer Bonfires are organised again, after a pause of two years.
The Seurasaari Midsummer Bonfires represent the vivid Finnish cultural heritage. Organised in a museum environment, the festivities combine age-old views on the Midsummer festivities with fresh ones. The Bonfires have been organised since 1954, and offer closeness to nature, fire light, folk music, Midsummer treats and an opportunity for open-air dancing.

Lonna Island in front of Helsinki features Finnish stars and rising talents, treats from the island’s restaurant, as well as a sauna.

The Allas Sea Pool Midsummer fest features Stig on 24 June and Ida Paul & Kalle Lindroth on 25 June. Allas Live organises dozens of gigs this summer in the courtyard of Allas Sea Pool, with a view to the sea by Katajanokka.

Dumari, Spuget, and Blosarit play at Korjaamo on the second Midsummer’s eve running. Tuomari Nurmio is a central songwriter and influencer in Finnish rock music. In addition to Tuomari himself, the Spuget band includes Make Hillilä on drums, Mitja Tuurala on double bass, and Miikka Paatelainen on guitar. Blosarit consists of Juho Viljanen on trombone and bass horn, Janne Toivonen on trumpet, and Antti Hynninen on the saxophones.
Other top events in June
Events are organised throughout summer in the centre and many neighbourhoods. Some of the biggest centres of events include Cable Factory in Ruoholahti, Suvilahti in Sörnäinen, the Train Factory in Vallila, as well as Nordis, the Olympic Stadium, Korjaamo Culture Factory and the Kansalaistori Square in Töölö. Events organised in these areas may affect traffic in the vicinity.We recommend using public transportation and following any other recommendations by the event organisers. Further details on traffic arrangements will be available on the hel.fi website as major events draw near.

Summer Thursday jazz jam sessions at the Train Factory
Jazz musicians from the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra, the Sibelius Academy jazz group, the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, and the Pop & Jazz Conservatory form unique jam assemblies serving timeless jazz treats on the terrace of the Train Factory Biergarten on six further summer Thursdays. The events are free of charge.
The Helsinki Pride festival for sexual minorities is organised from 27 June to 3 July.
The Pride Week culminates in a parade and park picnic on 2 July.
