Annantalo’s 2023–2024 course offering will be published on Thursday, 17 August, the Night of the Arts, with registration to begin on Monday, 21 August. Annantalo’s reformed art education activities will be launched under the new model in autumn 2023. Long courses lasting several school years will be discontinued and replaced by shorter courses. Most of the courses starting in the autumn last for one school year. The offering will also include the introductory hobby courses consisting of a couple of meetings, special support groups and more open workshops than before. New courses will start under the instruction of familiar Annantalo art educators continuing as permanent employees.

Annantalo students’ pre-registration for the courses will be discontinued: registration will open to all at the same time starting next autumn. All Helsinki children and young people are welcome to attend the courses regardless of whether they have previously participated in Annantalo’s art education activities.

Annantalo will also help find a long-term art hobby elsewhere in the city. Helsinki has more than 40 art schools organising longer-term art education next autumn. Other activity providers in Helsinki know of Annantalo’s reform and that children and young people involved in our long-term activities may seek to continue their hobby elsewhere starting next autumn.

Besides the courses, Annantalo’s autumn includes a variety of programmes, including exhibitions, workshops, event days and theatre, dance, circus and music shows. A more detailed schedule for the autumn will be published on Annantalo’s website during the summer.

Art educators selected to permanent positions will start on 1 August 2023

In spring 2023, we have selected 14 art educators to the new employment positions valid until further notice, ten of whom will be full-time employees and four part-time employees with a 50% working time. The employment contracts of the art educators will start on 1 August 2023.

Recruiting art educators into permanent positions also allows Annantalo art education operations to be held year-round in the future, including summer. Permanently employed art educators can develop and plan Annantalo’s art education activities longer into the future, which will benefit Annantalo’s students.
