The renovation of the western part of Sibelius Park in Töölö will proceed to a renewal of the surroundings of the Sibelius Monument once the tourist season has ended. Work to restore the ponds of the park and build a dog park and an underground sand silo will begin at the same time. The silo construction project will involve excavation work in the park. In addition to the renovation of the park itself, the privately owned Villa Paulig located in the park is also being repaired.

The western part of the park will largely be a worksite from autumn to early spring. Access to the Sibelius Monument is expected to be blocked until the beginning of May 2024. Passage through the park between Merikannontie and Mechelininkatu is also temporarily closed.

A section of the park will be opened in late autumn once the new playground and outdoor sports facility have been completed.

The renovation of Sibelius Park will be completed in autumn 2024 with the exception of the immediate surroundings of Villa Paulig, where the repair work on the villa may delay the construction of the park until 2025.

The contractor hired for the renovation project is VRJ Etelä-Suomi Oy.
