The Christmas holiday in Helsinki’s comprehensive schools and general upper secondary schools starts on Saturday 21 December 2024. The first day of school after the holiday will be Tuesday 7 January 2025. Most Helsinki Vocational College students will be on holiday in the week beginning Monday 23 December.

Advisory services during the holidays
The Education Division’s advisory services will be closed on during 23 December – 1 January. Advisory services are available by phone and email again on 2 January 2025. The telephone service for early childhood education will be closed on during 23–27 December. The Finnish-language telephone service will open 30 December onwards by phone on +358 9 310 80488 and by email at varepalveluohjaus@hel.fi(Link opens default mail program). The Swedish-language telephone service will be closed in the week beginning 30 December.

The Daycare Fee Unit for Early Childhood Education will be closed during 23–27 December. The service will be open normally in the week beginning 30 December from Monday to Friday at 9.00–11.00 on a new phone number +358 9 310 43270.

The After-school Activities Customer Fee Unit will be closed during 23–31 December and opens on 2 January. Telephone service will be available from Monday to Friday at 9.00–11.00 on a new phone number +358 9 310 43250.
