The persons next in line for coronavirus vaccination in Helsinki are 70–74-year-olds, i.e. those born in 1947–1951. Their informal carers who have been approved for informal care support will also be vaccinated.
The service will open on Tuesday 9 March. You can make a vaccination appointment online at koronarokotus.hel.fi or by calling the appointment booking line 09 310 46300. The appointment booking number is available on weekdays 8:00–18:00. Appointments can be booked online starting from Monday evening. Informal carers can only make appointments by telephone.
Those 70–74-year-olds who are now scheduled for vaccination will receive a separate notification, which will arrive sometime next week.
Vaccinations are being carried out at the vaccination points of Jätkäsaari, Messukeskus, Malmi and Myllypuro.
More age groups

Vaccines will be administered without delay as they become available in the order determined based on national recommendations.
The COVID-19 vaccinations of Helsinki residents aged 75 and above will continue. In Helsinki, 97% of people aged 85 and above have received their first jab. Of 80–84-year-olds and 75–79-year-olds, 78% and 19%, respectively, have been vaccinated.
Director of Health and Substance Abuse Services Leena Turpeinen is very pleased with the high vaccination coverage of seniors.
“Hopefully the coverage of younger age groups will climb equally high once we can begin the vaccinations. The COVID-19 pandemic will only stop once the majority of the population has been vaccinated,” Turpeinen says.
“Among people who will either be turning 75 this year or are already older, as well as their informal carers, those who are yet to be vaccinated can still book appointments. We have also called persons aged 80 and above personally. Similarly, we will be calling all people aged 75 and above, if they have not yet booked a vaccination appointment,” Turpeinen says.
Elderly residents are being vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. Two shots of the vaccine are administered The vaccine jabs will be administered at an interval of 12 weeks, in accordance with the National Institute for Health and Welfare’s recommendation. The appointment for the second vaccination is set in conjunction with the first vaccination.
The vaccinations of
those belonging to risk groups due to an illness will be expanded next week
The vaccinations of Helsinki residents younger than 55 who are highly susceptible to severe COVID-19 due to an illness will be initiated next week. More information on appointment booking and the specifics for the age group will be provided separately.
The vaccinations of 55–69-year-old Helsinki residents who are highly susceptible to severe COVID-19 due to an illness will continue.
Correspondingly, vaccines will continue to be administered to social and health care professionals performing coronavirus-related work, and to elderly care workers.
Persons younger than 70 are vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine, in accordance with national recommendations.
