The regional coordination group of Uusimaa has decided on 9 September that, as a general rule, a COVID-19 test is not required for persons with mild symptoms if they have received two doses of the vaccine and at least a week has passed since the second vaccination, or if they have a history of having had a COVID-19 infection and have received a single vaccination dose at least one week previously, or if they have a history of having had a COVID-19 infection within the previous six months.
The change does not apply to individuals who are known to have been exposed to the coronavirus. The change does not apply to social and health care client workers, residents and staff of elderly care and treatment units, or those who are at risk of suffering from severe COVID-19.
We recommend that you continue to seek a COVID-19 test despite receiving any COVID-19 vaccination (one or even both doses)
- if you are involved in social and health care client work and have symptoms of COVID-19
- if you are involved in work in care and treatment units of social and health care and have symptoms of COVID-19
- if you have been exposed to COVID-19
- if you are at risk of suffering from severe COVID-19(Link leads to external service).
A series of two COVID-19 vaccinations protects against COVID-19 and is especially effective against the severe form of the disease. Thus, those who have received the two doses of the vaccine have good protection against COVID-19.
If you have not yet been vaccinated, they are now available at pop-up vaccination points around Helsinki. We have wanted to make getting vaccinations as easy as possible for all Helsinki residents. Lets protect ourselves and our loved ones from COVID-19.
