The vaccination interval for the AstraZeneca vaccine can be shortened to eight weeks

Persons aged 65 and over who have received the first jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine can shorten the interval between the two vaccinations to eight weeks from the

Persons aged 65 and over who have received the first jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine can shorten the interval between the two vaccinations to eight weeks from the current twelve. The shortening of the interval between the AstraZeneca vaccine doses is based on the recommendation of the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare.

The National Institute for Health and Welfare recommends that persons aged 65 and over take the AstraZeneca vaccine as the booster shot, if they have received the AstraZeneca vaccine as the first jab.

The interval for the Pfizer vaccine will remain at twelve weeks.
