Welcome to the website for cross-institutional studies!

Upper secondary level student in the City of Helsinki, the opportunity for cross-institutional studies is intended for you! Cross-institutional studies mean that you can choose any studies that interest you from the courses offered to everyone by general upper secondary schools, the Helsinki Vocational College and the Adult Education Centre.

The selection includes permits needed for work, creative subjects, studies that support your wellbeing and studies that provide a more rounded education. The study credits will be included in your qualification or degree.

This autumn’s offerings include many interesting courses! The studies offered by the Adult Education Centre include customising your formal dance outfit, and students can learn subjects like theatre at the Helsinki Vocational College.

The summer and autumn cross-institutional offerings are available on the Helsinki Online Upper Secondary School website. For more information, get in touch with your guidance counsellor.

This website will be updated during the autumn term of 2024.

Cross-institutional studies aim to strengthen and increase

  • Your preparedness for working life. You can complete permits needed for work, for example.
  • Your wellbeing. The selection includes various studies that develop wellbeing. Different study units and forms of study can also add variety to your studies.
  • Your opportunities to have an impact. Cross-institutional studies allow you to better highlight your strengths and competences and to accumulate skills and knowledge you may need in the future.
  • Cross-institutional studies can help you discover new interests, get inspired by different ways of studying and ease the transition to further studies.
