
Playground Kiikku is located by quiet walkway in the Kontula district. The playground is surrounded by forest and rocks. The playground is fully fenced, allowing for children to play safely. Playground Kiikku is popular among families with babies and small children.
The playground is a place where families with babies and children can play, exercise and meet each other around the year either indoors or outdoors. In addition to sandboxes, swings and various climbing frames, playground features:
- Separate fenced yard for small children
- Basketball hoop
- Ice rink (in winter)
- Floorball goals and equipment
- Waterplay area with showers, pumps etc. (in summer)
- Baby changing table
- Metal football field frame with goals
Families with babies and children can meet other families at playgrounds, while children can find new friends to play with. Diverse and free-of-charge guided activities are organised at playgrounds in the mornings.
You can heat your own food and make coffee and tea at the playground. Our activities are free of charge and based on Helsinki's curriculum for early childhood education and care.

The route to the playground area
- There are no accessible parking spaces near the playground. The nearest parking area is within 50 metres.
- The pick-up and drop-off area is located under 5 m from the playground.
- A smooth and sufficiently wide asphalted route leads to the playground. The route is illuminated.
Playground area
- The playground is surrounded by a metal fence. Inside the fence there are tiled walkways. The entire play area is illuminated.
- The playground has an information board that can be accessed by a wheelchair. The information board can also be looked at up close.
- The playground has benches with free space at the end for a wheelchair or stroller. Some of the tables and benches have been designed for children's dimensions.
- The playground has swings, a slide, a sandbox, a canopy, a climbing frame.
- The swings: The swings are situated at the edge of the area. There is a metal fence around the swing area and a bench for an adult nearby. A wet pour rubber safety surface has been installed under the swings. The play area also has a safety swing for a small child.
- The slide: There is space for a wheelchair around the slide and a bench for an adult nearby. A wet pour rubber safety surface has been installed under the slide. The slide can be accessed via the stairs.
- The sandbox: The edge of the sandbox is too low for wheelchair access. On the edge of the sandbox, there is a sand table with a wet pour rubber safety surface underneath. There is a bench for an adult nearby.
- The canopy: The entrance to the canopy is not wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. There are tables and benches under the canopy. Some of the tables have been designed for children's dimensions.
- The climbing frame: A wet pour rubber safety surface has been installed under the climbing frame. There is a bench for an adult nearby.
