Civil engineering company E.M. Pekkinen Oy, which has filed for bankruptcy, has been a contractor in some City of Helsinki projects.
E. M. Pekkinen has unfinished contracts in Longinojanpuisto Park at Malmi, Siltasaarenkatu in Kallio, near the former Maria hospital in Kamppi and at Katajanokka pier.
The City of Helsinki and the official receiver are investigating whether the insolvency estate is capable of completing the work. If necessary, the City will dissolve the contract and find new contractors to complete the projects as soon as possible.
It is likely that the unfinished works will be delayed due to the contractor's bankruptcy.
