Maritime Helsinki Day to be celebrated again in June

The maritime environment is part of the Helsinkian identity, and the sea is never far away in the city. The popular Maritime Helsinki event will once again be held in June, this time in connection with Helsinki Day.

On Wednesday 12 June, maritime entrepreneurs and other operators will provide you with an opportunity to explore maritime places and services. On the day of the event, you can enjoy an affordable cruise in the Helsinki archipelago, take part in a nature event for the whole family on Harakka Island, try canoeing or go on a ride on a shared-use boat, among other things.

“The presence of the sea can be felt strongly everywhere in Helsinki, also on Helsinki Day. Summer is a time of celebration for maritime Helsinki. The water transport season has already started, and Maritime Helsinki Day will officially kick off the summer season. This year, the absolute main event of the summer will be the Tall Ships Races youth sailing event coming to Helsinki in July. Helsinki will act as a host port for the event from 4 to 7 July,” says Special Planning Officer Minttu Perttula from the City of Helsinki Sports Services.
