Street works on Helsinginkatu will have a significant effect on tram services from Monday 17 May. Trams 1 and 8 will run along Sturenkatu, tram 3 will be on a lengthy diversion via the Opera and tram 9 will run to Linjat. The next route changes will take effect on 12 July when the next phase of the works begins. From 3 October, all trams will be operating on their normal routes.
Street works at the junction of Helsinginkatu and Kaarlenkatu will affect tram services from Monday 17 May. There will be no direct tram service from the Opera to Sörnäinen. Kallio and Aleksis Kiven katu will not be served.

The street work project
The improvement of Helsinginkatu, Caloniuksenkatu and Runeberginkatu started in January and the works will continue until spring 2023. Once the works are completed, walking and cycling in the area will be safer and more comfortable.
