Development plans

The City of Helsinki is preparing a partial local master plan for Östersundom. The most important decisions to make concern the rail transport connection and the related land use, the green area network, nature conservation areas, and ecological connections. The goal is that a proposal for the partial local master plan will be completed in 2025. The local detailed plans for Landbo and Karhusaari will be changed.

The partial local master plan describes the key urban structure of the area and focuses on matters essential for the city structure, such as habitation, the locations of workplaces and services, transport connections, and the recreational and green area network. The partial local master plan guides the detailed planning of the area.
