The Helsinki Online Upper Secondary School offers studies in several languages in both distance and online learning. Distance learning at the Helsinki Online Upper Secondary School means a course where the student participates in daytime classes according to the schedule via remote connection. Online learning, on the other hand, does not have time- or place-based teaching. The teacher supports your learning by providing personal feedback on your work during the course. You can find basic information about distance and online learning in the page menu.
You can also study languages at the Helsinki Upper Secondary School for Adults. The Helsinki Upper Secondary School for Adults has its own course catalogue of classroom, online and distance learning courses in several different languages. Distance learning courses at the Helsinki Upper Secondary School for Adults are arranged in the evening, and the student participates in distance learning via remote connection at the time indicated in the schedule. Online teaching, on the other hand, does not have time- or place-based teaching, but the course schedule is tied to the periods of the Upper Secondary School for Adults. You are also welcome to study languages in classroom instruction in the evenings at the Helsinki Upper Secondary School for Adults located in the Mäkelänrinne district.
Language studies are also organised in the summer. You can attend classroom instruction in compulsory, optional and refresher courses in English and Swedish at Mäkelänrinne in June. In August, you can prepare for the autumn’s matriculation examinations with the help of distance refresher courses. You can also take several compulsory and optional online language courses in the summer – the fifth online period takes place from May to August, so flexible studies in several languages in the summer are possible.
All the available courses are visible in your Wilma and you can sign up for them when the registration period is open.
