The sandy-bottomed Palettilampi Beach is located in Kuninkaantammi. The beach was built by a former basin of a water treatment plant, and the basin will be filled with water from Lake Päijänne. The water is less than 2 metres deep.
You can check the water temperature and blue-green algae situation of the beach via the ulkoliikunta.fi map service during the summer season. Lifeguards supervise the beach during the beach season.
The endangered Slavonian grebe lives on the beach, and these birds require peace and quiet. The grebes' nesting area is restricted with a flagged line, and we have brought them a nesting raft by the sparse willow shrubs on the shore. It should be noted that swimming is forbidden in the restricted area because of the birds, but also because of the willow shrubs in the bottom. We will be able to remove them after the swimming season.
How to get there: The paid Lammenranta carpark is close to the beach (address: Paletinkierto 9). You can also access the beach easily by public transport (bus lines 52 and 560).
