Pikkukoski beach

The City of Helsinki supervises the beaches during the swimming season and takes samples of the beach water in accordance with the sampling plan.

Pikkukoski beach is a soft, sandy beach, but the area also has large lawn areas as well as fields and courts for games. The water gets deeper quickly, and the river may have strong currents. The beach is along River Vantaanjoki, about a 20-minute walk from the Oulunkylä train station.

You can check the water quality, temperature and blue-green algae situation of the beach via the ulkoliikunta.fi map service during the summer season. Lifeguards supervise the beach during the beach season.

The beach has dressing rooms, showers and toilet facilities, as well as a sauna, basketball court, beach volleyball court, outdoor gym and outdoor exercise area. The public sauna offers free-of-charge sauna hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

How to get there: There is a car park near the beach. You can also reach the beach easily by public transport.
