Description of the outdoor recreation area
Talosaari, Husö, is a maritime outdoor recreation area, characterised by equestrian activities well suited to the manor environment, and offering excellent opportunities for birdwatching. Close to the manor is the Husö equestrian centre and the riding trails it uses. It is hoped that the Talosaari area will be used with respect for equestrian activities and horses.
There is a hiking trail in the area, which runs through the yard of a villa rented by the Helsinki Nature Conservation Association. There is no toilet in the Talosaari outdoor recreation area. The Talosaari outdoor recreation area will be developed in the coming years by improving trails and signage. The current nature trail starts near the Husö equestrian centre. Along the approximately 1.5-kilometre-long trail, there are signs providing information on the trail’s forests and other habitats, as well as the mammal, bird, insect, shelf fungi and plant species in the area.
Valuable in terms of nature conservation, the area has four conserved sections and a single, continuous nature conservation area will be established there in the future.
There is a cross-country skiing track in the area in winter.
