At the child health clinic, we monitor and support the growth and development of children under school age and address family-related issues. Children receive vaccinations against serious diseases according to the national vaccination programme. We collaborate with other social and health care professionals.

In school health care, we support the healthy growth and development of schoolchildren, enhance learning conditions, prevent marginalisation, and assist parents. Each school has a public health nurse available during the school day for confidential discussions or in case of an accident. Health care is part of student welfare, and we collaborate with teachers, school social workers, psychologists, and other staff. We also conduct annual health examinations and vaccinations according to the national programme.

We provide upper secondary student health care directly in educational institutions as part of the multi-professional student welfare services. Each educational institution has a public health nurse available for both acute and booked appointments. Other health care professionals, such as doctors, psychologists, and mental health and substance abuse nurses, are also available. During holidays, a centralised appointment system serves student health care needs.

At health stations, we treat sudden or long-term health problems of children and young people. For example, if a child has a cold or ear infection, they can receive treatment at a health centre. Health stations also treat schoolchildren and students who need urgent care during their leisure time or prefer health station services over student health care.
