Day activities Urkuri

We serve older people living at home in western Helsinki, whose functional capacity has decreased. We also take memory disorders into account.

Our Urkuri team includes a physiotherapist, social instructor and three practical nurses.

We offer our clients a wide range of activities during the day. Our clients can, for example, socialise with their peers, go to the gym under the guidance of a physiotherapist, participate in chair workouts, attend sing-alongs, practice manual skills, play different games and enjoy outdoor activities. Clients participating in day activities may also join in activities organised by the service centre for seniors and the unemployed, such as concerts, performances and other events.

We also organise intensive rehabilitation in day activities.

Urkuri operates at the Kannelmäki Service Home. The Kannelmäki Service Home and Urkuri are part of the Riistavuori Senior Centre.

The route to the main entrance

  • The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement.
  • The route to the entrance is smooth and sufficiently wide and illuminated.

The main entrance

  • The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
  • The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door opens automatically with an opening button.

In the facility

  • The customer service point is located on the entrance floor.
  • The doors in the facility stand out clearly.
  • The facility has a toilet marked as accessible. The toilet door cannot be easily opened and closed.

Services
