To book facilities of daycare centres, playgrounds and adult education centres, get in touch with the location directly. To book school classrooms, dining rooms and assembly halls, use the Timmi online booking system. School sports facilities are booked from the Culture and Leisure Division.

How the process works
1. Register as a Timmi user electronically with your Business ID.
2. Send a facility booking request in Timmi.
3. You will receive a confirmation if your request is confirmed.
4. We will send you an invoice by post for the use of the facility.
We send invoices out once a month, and you will receive yours after the use of facilities.

School facilities for evening and leisure use
Book for school facilities through the Timmi booking calendar or Varaamo booking system. We do not accept bookings by email.
Details
Register as a Timmi user electronically with your organisation’s Finnish business ID (Y-tunnus). Upon registration, you will be assigned as your organisation’s contact person. If you are a private person, register as Timmi user online, and bring a completed basic information form to the contract secretary of the Education division. Please also bring a photo ID with you.
Only registered users can make booking requests for the use of school facilities. Booking requests must be made at least two weeks before the preferred booking date. For example, if you want to make a reservation for Wednesday 17.4.2024, you must submit your reservation request by Tuesday 2.4.2024.
The use of the facilities in the Jakomäen sydän service building (Kankarepuisto Comprehensive School and Kankarepuisto playground) must be applied for through Varaamo one week before the preferred booking date at the latest.
Please note that sports facilities are booked through the Culture and Leisure Division.

You will receive an email confirmation once we have confirmed and accepted your booking request. The booking is binding after we send you the email confirmation and no further changes can be made to the booking at that point.

If you wish to cancel your booking, let us know by email at tilavaraukset@hel.fi(Link opens default mail program). You can cancel single bookings free of charge 14 days before the start of the booking.
It is not possible to cancel a single booking or make changes within a series of booking (i.e., recurring booking with several dates, for example once a week). However, the entire booking or all the remaining single bookings can be cancelled free of charge within the cancellation period of 14 days.
Changes to start and end times of bookings or facilities must always be made as new requests.
During the booking, you must have an adult person in charge of the group’s activities and behaviour in the school facilities.

Most of our school facilities require evening supervision. The evening supervisor opens the door 15 minutes before the start of the event. The Education Division’s Facility Services assign an evening supervisor when the booking is accepted.
Some of our facilities can be reserved for independent use without the presence of city staff or a city representative. In this case, the person making the reservation commits to seeing to the safety, supervision and the final cleaning independently. Facilities for independent use are listed in the Timmi calendar, in which case the name of the unit/facility is followed by the marking “Itsenäinen käyttö”.
You are responsible for the safety of your event. The Education Division as the holder of the facilities and the owner of the facilities are responsible for the safety of the facilities.
Smoking, the use of alcohol and other intoxicants on school facilities and in the school premises is prohibited.

Booking other Education Division’s facilities for evening and leisure use
Playground and daycare centre facilities can be booked for family celebrations, meetings, assemblies, and other activities in the evenings and at weekends. Organisations and other parties can use the facilities for meetings and events for the Helsinki residents.
Make a reservation by contacting the playground or daycare centre directly. The event location will make a written agreement with you on the use of their facilities. You as a user of the facilities will have to arrange the supervision and cleaning of the facilities.

Rates for the evening and leisure use of facilities
The products and services purchased by the Education Division will be invoiced to the customer on a cost-based basis, including VAT. VAT is 24% for meetings and other events until 31.8.2024 and from 1.9.2024 25,5,%. 10% for the use of sports facilities for sports events and 10% for accommodation.
