You may be eligible for the Bimervax COVID-19 vaccine if

  • you are in a target group for COVID-19 vaccinations;
  • you have not contracted COVID-19 or received a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot this autumn; and
  • you have a serious allergy or other medical reason due to which you cannot have the Comirnaty COVID-19 vaccine.

Who belong to the target groups for COVID-19 vaccinations in autumn 2025?

The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) has updated its recommendations for COVID-19 vaccination since last year. The target groups for COVID-19 vaccinations in autumn 2025 are the following:

  • Older people living in care homes or receiving regular home care, as well as older people receiving informal care
  • Everyone aged 75 and over
  • Severely immunocompromised people of all ages

How to book a vaccination appointment 

How to book a vaccination appointment at a health station via Maisa 

  1. Open the Maisa app or go to  maisa.fi. (Link leads to external service)(Link leads to external service)
  2. Log in using strong identification with your online banking codes, mobile certificate or smart ID card.  
  3. Open the menu, then select Book appointment and Influenza and COVID-19 vaccination appointment. You can only book an appointment within your own health station area.  
  4. Next, choose which vaccination you want to book an appointment for. The options are: Influenza and COVID-19 vaccination, Influenza vaccination, or COVID-19 vaccination. Please check that you belong to the target group before booking.  
  5. Choose the unit where you want to book your appointment. You will see the units offering vaccinations in your health station area.
  6. Choose a suitable time from the available options.  
  7. Finally, select Confirm appointment.  
  8. You can find the details of your upcoming appointment on the Events page in Maisa. 

Children over 10 years of age can use Maisa with their own login details.

How to book a vaccination appointment at a maternity and child health clinic via Maisa 

  1. Open the Maisa app or go to  maisa.fi.(Link leads to external service)(Link leads to external service)
  2. Log in using strong identification with your online banking codes, mobile certificate or smart ID card.  
  3. Go to the section 'Booking an appointment for influenza vaccination' and select 'Booking an appointment for influenza vaccination' again.  
  4. Select the unit at which you want to have an appointment. You can book an appointment at any maternity and child health clinic in Helsinki. 
  5. Choose a suitable time from the available options.  
  6. Finally, select Confirm appointment.  
  7. You can find the details of your upcoming appointment on the Events page in Maisa.

How to book a vaccination appointment at a maternity and child health clinic by phone

To book a vaccination appointment at a maternity and child health clinic, please call the maternity and child health clinic telephone service, tel.  +358 9 310 55530(Link starts a phone call) , open Mon–Fri at 8.00–14.00.

Vaccinations in institutions, home care, maternity clinics, and school and student health care

Hospitals, senior centres, service homes and home care services, as well as maternity clinics, schools and educational institutions in Helsinki, are responsible for vaccinating their own clients. 

  • Those eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination can enquire about an appointment from the nurse at their own educational institution or from the Centralised Unit of Student Health Care, tel. + 358 40 662 4166(Link starts a phone call) .

  • Hospital wards, senior centres and service homes in Helsinki administer vaccinations to their own clients.
  • Clients receiving home care who are unable to visit a health station for vaccination, even with assistance, will receive their vaccinations through home care. Informal caregivers of home care clients who fall within the vaccination recommendations will be vaccinated at the same time.
  • This group will receive their vaccinations in October–November 2025.
