Informal care family services at service centres

Service centres offer activities for informal care families and those providing care for a loved one.

Service centres have peer support groups for those providing care for a family member or loved one.

In the peer support groups, you can discuss and share your thoughts in a confidential and safe atmosphere and receive valuable peer support, information and help in your everyday life.

We will consider your wishes and needs. The groups are led by trained professionals or a peer instructor.

Please ask the service centres' social instructors about activities for informal care families and those providing care for a loved one. We will find the best activities for you together.

Participation is free of charge. You need a service centre card to access the service. You can get a card free of charge from the service centres' information desk.

Do you already have a service centre card?

You can get a free service centre card from the service centres' information desk if you are retired or unemployed living in Helsinki.

When applying for the service centre card, you can prove your retirement with an earnings-related pension card or a pension or benefit decision. If you are currently not working and you are registered as an unemployed job seeker, you can apply for a service centre card on the basis of unemployment. You can print out a certificate of the validity of your job seeking from the TE Service’s E-services (webpage in Finnish)(Link leads to external service)
