Peer support groups at service centres

Peer support groups offer an opportunity to have confidential discussions in a safe environment.

Peer support groups at service centres offer the opportunity to meet people in similar life situations and find meaningful activities to fill your days. The groups provide valuable support with issues such as loneliness, depression or substance abuse.

There are also groups for senior residents who belong to sexual or gender minorities.

The groups are led by trained professionals. We will consider your wishes and needs.

Peer support groups are available at all the service centres. Please ask the service centres' social instructors about the groups. Let's find the best group for you together!

Participation is free of charge. You need a service centre card to access the service. You can get a card free of charge from the service centres' information desk.

Do you already have a service centre card?

You can get a free service centre card from the service centres' information desk if you are retired or unemployed living in Helsinki.

When applying for the service centre card, you can prove your retirement with an earnings-related pension card or a pension or benefit decision. If you are currently not working and you are registered as an unemployed job seeker, you can apply for a service centre card on the basis of unemployment. You can print out a certificate of the validity of your job seeking from the TE Service’s E-services (webpage in Finnish)(Link leads to external service)
