Listen to and observe nature

In Fastholma, you can hear the singing of goldfinches, icterine warblers, blackcaps and nightingales. The song of the reed warbler and the sedge warbler can also be heard in the reed. The tawny owl’s territory is located in the area, and the howls of the owl can be heard all year round. Near Mölylä, on the outskirts of the reed, you can see great crested grebes fishing and mute swans nesting. The largest waterfowl populations can be found in front of Mölylä and around Loppi. Good optical devices and a telescope are useful in the observation.

Forest deer are often seen in Fastholma. In late autumn, if you are lucky, you can also see the grey seal from the birdwatching tower. Fishing seals are often accompanied by seagulls. Next to the birdwatching tower is a house built by Väinö Levander in 1910. The Levanders were gardeners, and the house is still owned by the same family.
