What does the Hakala birdwatching platform offer?
Hakala birdwatching platform is located next to the Hakala birdwatching tower. The accessible platform opens up a view of the bird waters of Vanhankaupunginlahti towards the south and towards Ruohokari.
Cattle trail to the pasture
A cattle trail runs in front of the Hakala birdwatching platform, which the Finncattle cows and sheep use to access the Lammassaari pasture. The animals perform important nature management work by keeping the coastal meadow open.
Versatile bird sightings
From the platform, you can observe life in the bird waters and reeds that open in front of you. The bearded tit sometimes flies in front of the platform. On the outskirts of the water area and the Lammassaari meadow, you can see grey herons, whooper swans and large flocks of waterfowl, such as teals and wigeons. In late summer and early autumn, large swarms of stock doves and starlings sit on a power line above the platform. If you want to observe birds on the platform, please bring binoculars or a telescope with you.
