Sports and health guidance at service centres

Physical activity and health counselling is intended for you, if you need guidance or advice to promote your functional capacity and well-being, or to start exercising.

The service centre's physical education instructor or physiotherapist will help you find sports opportunities that match your fitness level and interests, either from the service centre's own sports offering or from other operators in the city. In physical activity counselling and gym guidance, we take into account the limitations of your functional capacity and possible health risks.

You can book an appointment for counselling by phone. Contact information can be found on the service centres' website.

The service is free of charge. You can get the necessary service centre card free of charge from the service centre's helpdesk. The service is intended for pensioners and unemployed people living in Helsinki.

Do you already have a service centre card?

You can get a free service centre card from the service centres' information desk if you are retired or unemployed living in Helsinki.

When applying for the service centre card, you can prove your retirement with an earnings-related pension card or a pension or benefit decision. If you are currently not working and you are registered as an unemployed job seeker, you can apply for a service centre card on the basis of unemployment. You can print out a certificate of the validity of your job seeking from the TE Service’s E-services (webpage in Finnish)(Link leads to external service)
