Gyms at service centres

In the service centres' gyms, you can train on your own or take part in instructed groups.

Our gyms have diverse and safe gym equipment. You will need to bring your own indoor sports shoes or slippers, clothes suitable for exercise and a water bottle. The gym provides locker rooms for changing clothes and shower facilities for washing up.

We will instruct you in the use of our gym equipment before you start training independently.

Remember to be cautious with the heavy equipment as you exercise at your own risk.

Using the gym is free of charge. You need a service centre card to access the service. You can get a card free of charge from the service centres' information desk.

Book an appointment for gym equipment instruction by phone. Please enrol in advance also to the instructed groups.

All our service centres have gyms. The service centres' gyms are intended for pensioners and unemployed people.

Do you already have a service centre card?

You can get a free service centre card from the service centres' information desk if you are retired or unemployed living in Helsinki.

When applying for the service centre card, you can prove your retirement with an earnings-related pension card or a pension or benefit decision. If you are currently not working and you are registered as an unemployed job seeker, you can apply for a service centre card on the basis of unemployment. You can print out a certificate of the validity of your job seeking from the TE Service’s E-services (webpage in Finnish)(Link leads to external service)
