If you need urgent care, your first step should be to go to the symptom checker in the Omaolo service at omaolo.fi. At Omaolo, you will get round-the-clock advice and, if necessary, access to a professional.
If you cannot use the symptom checker, call your health station Mon-Thu 8-16, on Fridays and on public holiday eves from 8-15, and at other times contact the Medical Helpline, tel. 116 117, before seeking emergency services. If you have already been put in touch with a professional through Omaolo, you no longer need to contact the health station or the Medical Helpline. In an emergency, call the emergency number 112.
In the evenings and at weekends, Helsinki residents over the age of 16 are served by Malmi and Meilahti Emergency Departments. Emergency services for children under the age of 16 are available in the New Children's Hospital.
