Nestled in the scenic area of Lauttasaari, Vattuniemi Group Home enjoys excellent transport connections by the sea. Our group home specialises in offering intensive service housing for nine adults with developmental disabilities, ensuring round-the-clock support and care.
Furthermore, within the same building, our group home offers four transitional apartments, providing supported housing to residents who receive assistance within the comfort of their own homes.
Our commitment to comprehensive care is evident as some of our residents actively engage in work and day activities, promoting personal growth and independence.

What is it like to live in Vattuniemi Group Home?
Each resident enjoys the comfort of a private room complete with a personal bathroom, providing a sense of privacy and independence. You have the creative freedom to furnish and decorate your room with your own furniture, making it a true reflection of your personality and preferences.
On the opposite end of the group home, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, along with a shared living room and a staff office. These communal spaces offer opportunities for socialisation and a sense of community.
Our residents also have access to a sauna and shower rooms, as well as a spacious terrace-like balcony, providing areas for relaxation and enjoyment.
We promote active participation in daily activities, such as cleaning, laundry, and dining-related tasks, tailored to your individual abilities and needs. Your weekly and daily schedules are thoughtfully structured to ensure that you receive the support and care necessary for your well-being and personal growth.

- The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement.
- The route to the entrance is smooth and sufficiently wide and illuminated.
The main entrance
- The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
- The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly and the glass doors have contrast markings. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door is heavy or otherwise hard to open.
In the facility
- The customer service point is located on floor 2.
- For moving around, there is a lift, which can hold a wheelchair; the door opens easily manually. The floor numbers in the lift cannot be felt with fingers. The button for the exit floor stands out from the other buttons. (The minimum dimensions for an accessible lift are width 1.1 m and depth 1.4 m.)
- The doors in the facility stand out clearly.
- The facility has a toilet marked as accessible on the entrance floor. The toilet does not have sufficient room for a wheelchair.
