Support person activities

A person with a disability can, for example, engage in recreational activities with a support person.

The purpose of support person activities is to enhance your opportunities for engaging in recreational and leisure pursuits. With the assistance of a support companion, you can explore activities such as shopping or attending diverse events. Moreover, your support person can serve as both a conversational partner and a companion for outdoor adventures.

If you feel the need for a support person, please fill in the disability service application form. Deliver the application to a service point of Disability Work in your area of residence.

You can find a support person yourself or ask a social worker to help you find one. A family member living in the same household cannot act as your support person. Your support person must be over 16 years old.

For more information on support person activities, please contact sote.tukihenkilovammaistyohon@hel.fi.

The support person is paid a fee and compensation for expenses.
