Job coaching

If you are still looking for your path to working life, you can get help for job-seeking from the City's employment services or Ohjaamo, Helsinki’s counselling and guidance service for young people.

The City’s disability services also arrange job coaching for clients who are 18 or older. You can get help with job applications and looking for suitable jobs. The main goal of job coaching is to find you either full-time or part-time employment.

Work activities

Disability services and adult social work offer work activities where you can practise your working life skills.  

In work activities organised by the City’s disability services, you get to see what working life is like and learn various skills needed at work. We help you learn the basic rules of the workplace and explore suitable career paths with you.

Work activities organised by adult social work cater for working-age Helsinki residents between the ages of 18 and 65 who need special support to find employment or require work activities to maintain their functional capacity due to a disability, illness or other reason. You are eligible for these services if you receive a disability pension or rehabilitation support.

Day activities

If your disability or illness prevents you from studying, working or participating in work activities, daytime activities can provide you with meaningful things to do. We will create personalised objectives for your day activities together with you and the people you care about.

Transport services

If you cannot travel to and from work or make other journeys in your daily life using public transport, you may need transport services.

If you are planning to get a driving license and a car, the City can support you in buying a car or car accessories.
